The Sleepy Psychiatrist

Research & projects

The questions are part of the work.

This is the open workbench: a place to share the ideas I’m investigating, the patterns I’m noticing, and the projects that may grow into something more. Some notes will be polished. Some will be honest sketches.

Question 01Ongoing

What makes advice feel possible?

A look at the difference between knowing a sleep recommendation and having enough context, support, and flexibility to try it.

Question 02Reading

Where does tiredness begin?

Following the overlaps between sleepiness, fatigue, mood, attention, and the stories we use to describe them.

Project 03Building

A better bedside glossary

A growing collection of plain-language explanations for the words that show up around sleep and psychiatric care.

How I’m working

Slow enough to notice. Clear enough to share.

I start with a real question, look for the strongest available evidence, and pay attention to where the evidence stops. Then I try to make the useful part legible to someone outside the room where the research was done.

The blog is where these ideas become short essays and field notes. Visit it when you want to see what has moved from the workbench into the world.
